Takeema Young, the visionary founder and CEO of Fostering Bridges Incorporated, has dedicated over 23 years to the social services field, with a passion for improving the lives of children and families affected by the child welfare system. Her extensive experience as a leader and consultant in therapeutic foster care has given her unique insight into the challenges caregivers face, particularly when it comes to managing difficult behaviors in children who have experienced trauma.

Through her work, Takeema has learned that real change happens when caregivers shift their focus from simply correcting behavior to building trust and connection. Her personal journey as a parent to a child impacted by trauma has deepened her understanding of this dynamic, leading her to explore alternative methods that prioritize healing and trust over traditional approaches.

In addition to her role as CEO, Takeema is a Resiliency Life Coach, Parenting Coach, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner. She is also pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and actively partners with community organizations to provide TBRI training and coaching. Furthermore, she plays a key role in the Healthy Opportunity Pilot program, addressing critical non-medical needs such as housing, food security, transportation, and interpersonal safety for high-needs Medicaid recipients. Takeema’s leadership and dedication continue to drive Fostering Bridges Incorporated’s mission to create trauma-informed environments and support children with complex needs.
